On October 7th I defended my Ph.D. at Lamont-Doherty. In an effort to permanently dodge frigid New York winters, in December I’ll be moving to Los Angeles to start a new position at Caltech as a Foster and Coco Stanback Postdoctoral Fellow. There will be plenty of threads to continue working on in regards to thorium and protactinium chemistry in the ocean, and lots of exciting new applications and measurements to make. I’ll also be expanding into some new research areas, including calcium carbonate dissolution, sediment and porewater geochemistry, and the biogeochemistry of redox-sensitive trace elements and their isotopes.
