Frankie Pavia

Frankie is an assistant professor in the University of Washington School of Oceanography and the PI of the group. He is an avid tennis player and misses surfing. CV

Tara Kalia

Tara is a graduate student in the Pavia lab. She studies the behavior of sea-ice during warm periods. In her free time, she loves to hike, run, and explore Seattle.

Makenzie Williamson

Makenzie was a masters student in the MSACST program as is now a research scientist in the Pavia Lab. She is working on identifying metal to calcium ratios in zooplankton and copper-binding ligands in various sample types. When not in the lab, she enjoys traveling in and out of Seattle as well as other outdoor activities in the PNW.

Claire Sheppard

Claire is a senior undergraduate oceanographic research assistant in the Pavia lab. Her academic focuses are chemical oceanography and climate sciences. In the Pavia lab, she works with zooplankton shells studying their metal to calcium ratios. When not studying or in the lab you can find her outside climbing, diving, or soaking up the sun.

Samantha Breuer

Samantha is a chemistry masters student researching carbon isotopes and uranium-thorium separation methods. Outside of the lab, you can find her hiking, at a baseball game, and trying new coffee shops and restaurants in Seattle.

Libby Petersen

Libby was a chemistry graduate student focusing her research on chemical oceanography in the Pavia lab. Her free time is filled with anything outdoors, especially skiing and mountain biking.

Helen Latting

Helen was a post-baccalaureate undergraduate RA in the Pavia lab studying chemical oceanography while also a member of the UW rowing team. She is now doing a Fulbright at the University of Bergen in Norway.
